Motorized ceiling bed raised above a home office in a small New York apartment The same NYC studio at night with the ceiling bed lowered above the desk

Space-saving beds for small New York apartments

Live twice.

At the touch of a button, the bed rises to the ceiling, freeing the space below for living, working, or dining. Patented, made in Italy, and crafted from solid wood.

Your bed takes up more floor space than anything else in your home. Ours rises out of the way.

  1. By day, it rises.

One button lifts the whole bed quietly toward the ceiling. No lifting, no folding.

  2. Below, the room is yours.

Keep a sofa, desk or dining table underneath. Nothing has to move — ever.

  3. At night, it comes down.

The bed lowers above your furniture, still made and ready for sleep.

  4. Two spaces at once.

It stops halfway down, so one person can sleep while another uses the space below.

Two models

Cloud: the bed moves.
Rising: the room expands.

The difference is size. Cloud is a compact lift bed, sized to the mattress.
Rising is a custom loft that can be as big as your room allows.

Cloud ceiling bed raised above a sofa — a Murphy bed alternative

Cloud

Ready to order

A compact Queen- or King-size lift bed. Two fixed legs hold it along the wall; two more fold down only when the bed is lowered. Raised, the floor underneath stays open.

Best for: making the bed disappear, without a big loft structure
Rising height-adjustable loft bed above a studio apartment kitchen

Rising

Made to measure

A custom loft platform on four fixed legs, built as large as your room allows. Step out of bed onto the deck, walk around it, add nightstands or storage — a true elevated bedroom.

Best for: space around the bed, a real bedroom up high

Cloud

Built around the footprint of your mattress, Cloud makes the bed disappear upward — without a permanent loft structure in the room.

How it works

No counterweights, no springs, no heavy lifting. Two quiet motors do all the work.

  1. Two fixed legs along the wall carry the bed. Two electric motors move it smoothly, with no visible cables.
  2. Press the remote or use the phone app. The bed rises fully made — mattress, pillows and duvet stay in place — and the two front legs fold up out of the way.
  3. At night it lowers above your furniture and the two front legs fold down, giving the bed four solid points of support while you sleep.

Rising

Sized to your room, from a compact loft to one that spans nearly the whole space. It feels like an elevated bedroom, not just a raised bed.

How it works

A real loft that moves: stop it at any height you like, as often as you like.

  1. Four fixed legs in solid beech carry a motorized platform with a walkable deck — room to step out of bed, add nightstands or storage.
  2. Press the remote — wired or wireless. The platform stops at any height — raise to free the room below, lower to climb in over three or four steps.
  3. Even fully lowered, it stays about 4 ft to 5 ft 3 in off the floor depending on your ceiling — so the sofa or desk underneath is always usable.

Questions

The questions new clients ask us most. Tap one to read the answer.

Cloud

How do I get into bed?

A solid-wood ladder is included; when the bed is up, move it off to a wall. Or add a staircase: collapsible, or fixed with built-in bookshelves.

How loud is it?

Very quiet — under 35 decibels, softer than a normal conversation.

How is it assembled?

It arrives with clear step-by-step instructions and fixes to the wall; ordinary tools and basic skill are enough.

Rising

Will a leg be in the way?

Depending on the dimensions, one or two of the four legs may sit farther into the room. Some people never notice; for others it decides the layout. We draw exactly where they land before you order.

How much room is left underneath?

Lowered, about 4 ft with an 8 ft ceiling, 4 ft 9 in with 8 ft 10 in, and 5 ft 3 in with 9 ft 10 in.

How far does it move?

26½ in as standard, or 37½ in with the extended-height option. Raised, you can stand underneath.

Can it stand in the middle of the room?

Yes. Away from walls it anchors to floor and ceiling.

How do I get up to it?

A fixed staircase is included — solid steps with built-in bookshelves.

What if the power goes out?

You can add an optional battery backup so the bed still moves during a power outage.

What is the platform made of?

Solid-wood slats topped with tatami — firm, woven Japanese-style mats. You can walk on the deck, so there is room around the mattress to sit or make the bed.
